Helanthium bolivianum, formerly known as Echinodorus bolivianum, is a popular aquatic plant commonly known as the Bolivian chain sword or simply chain sword. The plant is characterized by its long, thin, and slightly curled leaves that can grow up to 50 cm in length. The leaves are bright green and grow in a chain-like pattern, hence the name chain sword. The plant grows from a rhizome and can form dense mats in the aquarium, making it a popular choice for aqua-scaping.
