Caridina typus aka Australian Amano Shrimp. Similar to Amano Shrimp (Caridina japonica/Caridina multidentata). Appearance is variable, may have a full line longitudinally down length of tail, may have broken line, no line at all and/or lateral stripes. Colours and patterns may change in the same individual depending on environment, some look mostly clear with a blue tint, others look more red, brown or black. May change colour depending on environmental factors and substrate colour.
Will eat stringy algae, black beard algae, green string algae and black string algae/hair algae and grazes on dead organic matter.
Can grow up to 4cm.
